About the Essential Pathology Bookshelf
Over 75 new professional level textbooks and monographs are published every year in the areas of pathology, surgical pathology, and laboratory medicine, with an average price in excess of $140. How do you find the time to determine the ones that will be the most useful references for your busy pathology practice and research?
Let the Essential Pathology Bookshelf be your guide. The “must-have” titles on this list were selected by a team made up of clinical experts and medical librarians who are collection development experts in pathology. The list represents titles that were available at the time of the selection process in the Spring of 2007. These experts research the book literature and update their selections once every year. The 2008 edition of the Essential Pathology Bookshelf, scheduled for June, will reflect the selections they make this Spring.
Whether your interest is in general anatomic pathology, surgical pathology, or laboratory medicine, or you have a more specific interest in cytopathology or histopathology, or neuropathology, placental pathology, hematopathology, or gynecological pathology, you will find the detailed information provided about the titles selected for the Essential Pathology Bookshelf indispensable.

Diagnostic Histopathology of Tumors, 3rd Edition
Fletcher, Christopher D. M.
Published by: Elsevier

ISBN: 9780443074349, Hard Cover
The book of the year represents a highly rated and/or breakthrough publication in a specialty. The 2007 Pathology Book of the Year is Diagnostic Histopathology of Tumors, 3rd edition. One reviewer notes, “This superb book deserves to be widely read. It belongs among the core titles of pathology, and should be in private pathology libraries. Its primary location, however, should be in the surgical pathology sign-out room, so that it is readily available to housestaff.” To see a complete description and review, click here.
